Job summary

Amentum is seeking an experienced Aircraft Painter F-16 in Thumrait, Oman to perform surface preparation and painting for the fleet. The role involves applying lacquer, epoxy or other coatings with brushes, rollers, spray guns, and masking techniques while protecting adjacent areas.

Will lead, train and mentor fellow technicians, ensuring compliance with USAF publications and FMS-2026 requirements. Requires high school diploma or GED and 3+ years of paint experience.

• Experience with FMS-2026 Form 2 Type 1 F-16 Have Glass refinishing procedures.

Position Summary

Aircraft Painter F-16 position will report directly to the Program Manager and will be responsible for all surface preparation treatment and painting associated with the fleet of assigned aircraft at this location Thumrait Oman

Job Description

Performs surface preparation treatment and painting of components all aircraft surface areas aircraft panels support equipment or other items as required Demonstrated ability to precisely apply paint lacquer epoxy resin or other material using brushes rollers spray guns and other devices Masks and covers portions of surfaces not to be painted Working knowledge of surface preparation and painting techniques Must be knowledgeable of military publications and diagrams Ability to precisely apply vinyl graphics to multiple aircraft surfaces Application of FMS-2026 Form 2 Type 1 F-16 Have Glass surface refinishing Reviews maintenance forms aircraft records automated maintenance data systems and historical reports to ensure complete documentation Knowledge of military and or company forms required by work specifications is a plus

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of three 3 years proven experience as a paint technician to include painting maintenance and finish work
• Proven experience with FMS-2026 F-16 Have Glass paint application procedures
• Working knowledge of USAF military publications and Technical Orders
• Education requirement High School diploma or GED
• Must be able to lead train and mentor other technicians in all aspects of the F-16 Aircraft Paint technician specialty
• Must be qualified in application of FMS-2026 Form 2 Type 1 F-16 Have Glass surface refinishing

Preferred Qualifications

• F-16 Block 40 and above surface refinishing
• Experienced USAF 5 or 7 skill level or other military branch equivalent OR civilian equivalent

• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials authorization US Citizenship is required for facility credentials authorization to work at this facility

Physical Requirements Working Environment

Frequently lifts parts and equipment up to 25 pounds Occasionally lifts objects up to 50 pounds Most heavy lifting is accomplished through the use of mechanical devices Work is performed in a shop environment that is moderately lighted heated and ventilated Is exposed to disagreeable fumes and to cuts and bruised from using tools in close placed and hazards of moving vehicles such as forklifts in shop area While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand use hands to finger handle or feel and talk or hear The employee frequently is required to walk reach with hands and arms and stoop kneel crouch or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions The employee is occasionally required to sit climb or balance
