Job summary

TAT IT Technolgies seeks an AI Transformation Head to lead enterprise AI strategy, governance, and transformation across the bank. You will shape the operating model, drive high-value use cases, and ensure compliance with Oman regulations.

You will oversee AI deployment, data platforms, and analytics, manage global partnerships, and interface with regulators and the Board to maximize business value from AI investments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• A Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field is highly desirable.
• Professional certifications such as PMI-PMP, SAFe Agilist, Microsoft Azure AI Engineer, AWS Machine Learning Specialty, Google Professional ML Engineer, or equivalent AI certifications are highly desirable.

We have an urgent requirement for AI Transformation Head in Banking Domain (Must) is required for our banking client in Oman

• Lead the bank’s enterprise-wide AI strategy, define the AI operating model, identify high-value AI use cases, and drive digital transformation initiatives across retail banking, corporate banking, risk, and operations.---Must
• Establish AI governance frameworks, Responsible AI standards, model validation processes, and ensure compliance with Central Bank of Oman regulations, data privacy requirements, cybersecurity standards, and AI risk management practices.--Must

Summary

Serves as the Bank’s senior executive spearheading the enterprise-wide architecture, adoption, and scaling of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and advanced data analytics across all business units and support functions. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and maintaining regular reporting cadences to the Board Risk and Technology Committees, the incumbent owns the first-line execution boundaries for AI deployment while establishing robust controls to safeguard the Bank's operating environment. This pivotal role carries primary accountability for mitigating operational, algorithmic bias, systemic data privacy, and technological risks, ensuring all deployments strictly align with the evolving regulatory frameworks of the Sultanate. Crucially, the AI Transformation Head is vested with the regulatory authority and strategic gravitas required to interface directly with the Central Bank of Oman on matters concerning emerging technology governance, algorithmic transparency, and compliance with national digital transformation mandates.

Responsibilities

AI Strategy & Enterprise Architecture

• Formulate and execute a comprehensive multi-year corporate AI strategy that aligns with the Bank’s overarching digital transformation roadmaps and commercial objectives.
• Define the enterprise target operating model for artificial intelligence, establishing scalable cloud and on-premise infrastructure capabilities.
• Identify high-impact use cases across retail banking, corporate banking, risk management, and back-office operations to maximize return on technology investment.Champion an innovation culture that treats data as a core strategic asset, continuously evaluating emerging AI technologies, generative models, and industry trends Governance, Risk Management & Regulatory Compliance
• Establish a comprehensive AI governance framework that defines clear ethical guidelines, algorithmic transparency standards, and model validation protocols.
• Mitigate operational, reputational, and systemic risks associated with machine learning models, including algorithmic bias, data drift, and security vulnerabilities.
• Ensure total alignment of all digital and AI initiatives with the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) regulations, electronic banking guidelines, and national data privacy laws.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for internal audit, external regulatory examiners, and CBO inspectors regarding automated decision-making systems.
• Drive the end-to-end lifecycle of AI initiatives from conceptual proof-of-concept validation to full production-scale deployment.Cross-Functional Execution & Value Delivery
• Collaborate closely with Information Security, Risk Management, Compliance, and IT divisions to guarantee secure integration of intelligent systems.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to rigorously measure the financial and operational impact of deployed AI solutions.
• Manage strategic relationships with global technology vendors, fintech partners, and academic institutions to accelerate proprietary asset development.
• Oversee the development of modern data pipelines, warehousing systems, and feature stores required to feed complex machine learning architectures.
• Enforce rigorous data quality, lineage, and lifecycle management policies across the enterprise in coordination with the Chief Data Officer.
• Optimize computational resource allocation, balancing performance requirements against infrastructural cost structures.
• Architect secure real-time data streaming and processing capabilities to support instant automated credit scoring, fraud detection, and hyper-personalized marketing.
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing department of data scientists, machine learning engineers, and transformation project managers.
• Drive the national Omanisation mandate within the function, designing clear career pathways to maximize the representation of Omani nationals in advanced technical roles.
• Develop localized Omani technical talent through targeted mentorship, continuous professional development, and specialized training programs in coordination with Human Resources.

• Experiences
• 10-15 years of experience in Digital Transformation, Artificial Intelligence, Technology Strategy, Data Science, or Enterprise Technology within banking or financial services.
• At least 5 years leading enterprise-wide AI, digital transformation, or innovation programs with cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of AI governance, data management, regulatory compliance, cybersecurity, and change management in a regulated banking environment.
• Proven experience delivering AI, Machine Learning, Generative AI, and intelligent automation solutions that achieve measurable business outcomes.
• Demonstrated success in engaging executive leadership, managing strategic technology partnerships, and driving large-scale organizational transformation
