Job summary

Upper Harbour Primary School is seeking an exceptional teacher-leader to join our ambitious leadership team. You will grow pedagogy and build collective capability across our kura, with dedicated release time to collaborate with staff and strengthen teaching and learning.

You will model, coach, and lead professional learning across the school, using data to improve ākonga outcomes and contribute to curriculum development. Experience with AFoL and Spiral of Inquiry is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Must hold NZ teaching registration and be eligible to teach in NZ.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teaching and learning with a focus on student outcomes.
• Experience with inquiry cycles and professional learning is desirable.

Lead teaching and learning

We are looking for an exceptional teacher and emerging or experienced leader who is excited by the opportunity to grow pedagogy and build collective capability across our kura.

Working as part of an ambitious and supportive leadership team, you will have dedicated release time to work alongside teachers and teams to strengthen teaching and learning. You will:

• model highly effective classroom practice
• coach, co-teach, observe and learn alongside colleagues
• facilitate collaborative inquiry cycles that use evidence to identify learner needs, test approaches and evaluate impact
• lead professional learning and pedagogical development across the school.
• support teams to use assessment and data purposefully to improve outcomes for ākonga
• contribute to the ongoing development of our curriculum and approach to teaching and learning.

Experience with Assessment for Learning (AFoL) and the Spiral of Inquiry would be an advantage.
