Job summary

Kawerau South School is seeking an inspiring and collaborative syndicate leader to join our future-focused kura, working with a passionate team of kaiako and kaiāwhina. The role blends leadership with a teaching component across Years 1–8, with flexibility to tailor class placement to strengths.

We value strong relationships with ākonga, whānau, hapū, iwi, and staff and uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi. The position includes 0.5 day release per week (or 1 day per fortnight) plus a Leadership

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the kogis (syndicate) across Years 1–8 with a teaching component.

• Promote Te Tiriti o Waitangi through daily practice and school culture.

Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Syndicate leader
English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts0.5 day release per week (or 1.0 day per fortnight) alongside 1x Leadership Allowance.
