Job summary

CablePrice is seeking a motivated Yardperson at our Nelson Branch. The role supports technicians, maintains cleanliness of the site, and assists with moving heavy vehicles to customer sites. A Class 2 license is preferable or willingness to obtain one.

You'll work in a fast-paced environment, with proactive safety focus and varied daily tasks, from yard upkeep to assisting workshop activities and tool management.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning machinery and vehicles, yard cleaning to keep yard/workshop tidy.
• Loading and unloading machinery, attachments, freight, and equipment.
• Transporting and delivering small plant and equipment to customers and job sites.
• Assisting technicians with workshop activities and general operational support.
• Managing the tool store, including tool tracking, repairs and upkeep.
• Coordinating vehicle servicing, WOF/COF and compliance requirements.
• Carrying out vehicle and plant inspections, including Assura checks.
• Supporting Health, Safety and Environmental initiatives.
• Carrying out general site and yard maintenance duties.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Yardperson to join our busy Nelson Branch. This is a varied role that plays a vital part in supporting our technicians, assist with maintaining the cleanliness of our site, grooming of machines/vehicles and moving heavy vehicles from our site to customer sites (Class 2 drivers license preferable or willing to obtain). The successful candidate will be proactive, safety-focused, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

You'll be responsible for:

• Cleaning machinery and vehicles, yard cleaning, this will include but not limited to water blasting, and keeping the yard and workshop to a tidy standard
• Loading and unloading machinery, attachments, freight, and equipment
• Transporting and delivering small plant and equipment to customers and job sites
• Assisting technicians with workshop activities and general operational support
• Managing the tool store, including tool tracking, repairs, maintenance and continued improvement
• Arranging and coordinating vehicle servicing, WOF, COF, and compliance requirements
• Completing vehicle and plant inspections, including Assura checks
• Assisting with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) initiatives and improvements
• Carrying out general site and yard maintenance duties
