Carters Wanaka is seeking a Yardperson with a core focus on customer experience. This hands‑on role ensures orders are accurate, loads are safe, and the yard and showroom look sharp while delivering outstanding service to every customer.

This position offers exposure across yard and showroom operations, a 40‑hour week, and a competitive hourly rate with opportunities for growth in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Valid FULL New Zealand Driver's Licence.
• Competency in operating a Forklift with F Endorsed Licence and OSH Certificate.
• People person with talent for building trust with customers.
• Proficient in navigating computer systems.
• Aware of health and safety legislation in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Keep the yard, showroom and bulk store clean and well presented.
• Spot hazards and help keep the branch a safe place to work.
• Build great relationships with customers, suppliers and teammates.
• Fill and load customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Load trucks safely and ensure deliveries meet legal and safety requirements.
• Scan and label stock correctly, and process dispatch paperwork.
• Unload supplier deliveries and check goods against documentation.
• Cycle counts and stocktakes.

Got a good eye for detail, a steady work ethic, and a genuine passion for helping people? CARTERS Wanaka is looking for a Yardperson with a core focus on customer experience to join our team. This is a hands‑on, on‑your‑feet role at the heart of our operation. You will be the person making sure orders are right, loads are safe, the yard looks sharp, and every customer who walks through the door, or up to the trade counter gets outstanding service. The role offers great exposure across both yard and showroom, giving you a well‑rounded view of branch operations.

About the role

• Keeping the yard, showroom and bulk store clean, tidy and well presented
• Spotting hazards and helping keep the branch a safe place to work
• Building great relationships with customers, suppliers and your teammates
• Filling and loading customer orders accurately and efficiently
• Loading trucks safely and ensuring deliveries meet legal and safety requirements
• Scanning and labelling stock correctly, and processing dispatch paperwork
• Unloading supplier deliveries and checking goods against documentation
• Getting stuck into cycle counts and stocktakes

About You

• Valid FULL New Zealand Driver's Licence
• Competency in operating a Forklift with F Endorsed Licence and OSH Certificate
• A real people person with a natural talent for building trust and rapport with our customers
• Proficient in navigating computer systems
• Proven awareness of health and safety legislation in this industry
• Physically fit for the occasional heavy lifting and manual handling
• Building industry knowledge is advantageous
