Job summary

JobSpace in Cromwell, NZ, is seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor to lead the tyre workshop team and keep daily operations running safely and efficiently.

You will oversee technicians, manage tyre fitting, balancing and alignments, stock, and customer communications, while ensuring health and safety standards in a busy workshop environment are met and maintained.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule and support workshop technicians.
• Oversee tire fitting, wheel balancing and wheel alignment work.
• Ensure work meets industry standards and safety requirements.
• Manage customer inquiries, updates and issue resolution.
• Monitor and maintain stock of tires, parts and consumables.
• Enforce health and safety policies and maintain a tidy workshop.
• Manage daily workflow to minimise downtime.
• Train and mentor team members.
• Report to the Manager on operations, performance and stock needs.
• Step in and work on the floor during busy periods.

Employment Type: Full-time, permanent
Hours: Monday– 8:00am–5:00pm; Saturday morning.

We are a well-established commercial tyre workshop based in Cromwell. We supply, fit and maintain passenger, 4x4, light commercial, truck, agricultural and off-road tires, plus wheels and wheel alignments and balancing. We’re known for solid workmanship, reliable service and looking after our customers and team.

We’re looking for an experienced Supervisor to lead the workshop, manage the team and keep daily operations running safely and efficiently.

Role Overview

You’ll oversee all workshop activity, lead and schedule the technicians, maintain quality standards, manage stock, and keep customers happy. You’ll be hands‑on, lead by example, and keep the workshop safe, tidy and productive.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule and support workshop technicians
• Oversee tire fitting, wheel balancing and wheel alignment work
• Ensure all work meets industry standards and safety requirements
• Manage customer enquiries, updates and resolution of issues
• Monitor and maintain tire, parts and consumable stock levels
• Enforce all health and safety policies and keep the workshop tidy and compliant
• Manage daily workflow and minimise downtime
• Train and mentor team members
• Report to the Manager on operations, performance and stock needs
• Step in and work on the floor during busy periods.

• Solid experience in a tyre workshop, commercial service centre or similar role
• Practical knowledge across tyres, wheels, balancing and alignments
• Experience leading or supervising a small team
