Job summary

Cromwell General Tyres is seeking an experienced Supervisor to lead the workshop in Cromwell, NZ. You will manage technicians, schedule work, ensure quality and safety, and control stock and customer communications.

In this full-time, permanent role you’ll stay hands-on on the floor during busy periods, mentor staff, and report on operations to the manager. A calm, solution-focused leader with tyre industry know-how is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a tyre workshop or service centre.
• Experience leading a small team.
• Clear communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule and support workshop technicians.
• Oversee tire fitting, wheel balancing and alignments.

• Enforce health and safety policies and keep the workshop compliant.

Hours: Monday– 8:00am–5:00pm; Saturday morning.

About Us:

We are a well-established commercial tyre workshop based in Cromwell. We supply, fit and maintain passenger, 4x4, light commercial, truck, agricultural and off-road tires, plus wheels and wheel alignments and balancing. We’re known for solid workmanship, reliable service and looking after our customers and team.
We’re looking for an experienced Supervisor to lead the workshop, manage the team and keep daily operations running safely and efficiently.

Role Overview

You’ll oversee all workshop activity, lead and schedule the technicians, maintain quality standards, manage stock, and keep customers happy. You’ll be hands‑on, lead by example, and keep the workshop safe, tidy and productive.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule and support workshop technicians
• Oversee tire fitting, wheel balancing and wheel alignment work
• Ensure all work meets industry standards and safety requirements
• Manage customer enquiries, updates and resolution of issues
• Monitor and maintain tire, parts and consumable stock levels
• Enforce all health and safety policies and keep the workshop tidy and compliant
• Manage daily workflow and minimise downtime
• Train and mentor team members
• Report to the Manager on operations, performance and stock needs
• Step in and work on the floor during busy periods.
