Job summary

Cromwell General Tyres in Cromwell, Otago, NZ is seeking a hands-on Workshop Supervisor to lead the tyre service team and manage daily operations. You will oversee tyre fitting, balancing and alignments, ensure safety and quality, and maintain stock and customer communications.

The role is full-time and permanent, offering staff discounts and long-term stability. You’ll mentor technicians, uphold health and safety standards, and help drive customer satisfaction in a busy workshop.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in a tyre workshop, commercial service centre or similar role.
• Practical knowledge across tyres, wheels, balancing and alignments.
• Experience leading or supervising a small team.
• Clear communication and good customer service.
• Calm under pressure, good problem-solver.
• Strong focus on workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule and support workshop technicians.
• Oversee tire fitting, wheel balancing and wheel alignment work.
• Ensure all work meets industry standards and safety requirements.
• Manage customer enquiries, updates and resolution of issues.
• Monitor and maintain tire, parts and consumable stock levels.
• Enforce health and safety policies and keep the workshop tidy and compliant.
• Manage daily workflow and minimise downtime.
• Train and mentor team members.
• Report to Manager on operations, performance and stock needs.
• Step in and work on the floor during busy periods.
