Job summary

Medical Assurance Society is seeking a Workplace Technology Lead to drive the digital workplace strategy from our Auckland or Wellington offices. You will lead a team of engineers, shaping service outcomes and improving employee experiences while ensuring security and reliability.

Ideal candidates combine strategic leadership with hands-on technical capability, owning roadmaps and delivering continuous improvements in workplace technology and automation.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and developing technical teams.
• Experience owning or contributing to technology service roadmaps.
• Strong understanding of workplace technology services including endpoint management and collaboration platforms.
• Proven experience delivering technology improvements and change initiatives.

Are you a people leader who thrives on combining technical expertise with service ownership and continuous improvement?

We're looking for a Workplace Technology Lead to join our Innovation & Digital team and help shape the future of the digital workplace at MAS. This is a permanent position based in either our Auckland or Wellington Offices.

At MAS, technology plays a key role in enabling our people to deliver exceptional experiences for our Members. In this leadership role, you'll own the Workplace Technology Service Domain, leading a team of talented engineers while driving improvements that enhance employee experience, security, productivity and operational efficiency.

What you'll be doing

• Leading, coaching and developing a team of Workplace Technology Engineers.
• Owning and delivering the Workplace Technology roadmap and service outcomes.
• Driving continual improvement across the digital workplace experience.
• Providing technical leadership, solution design guidance and support for complex problem resolution.
• Leading the adoption of automation, AI and self-service capabilities.
• Ensuring services remain secure, reliable, resilient and aligned with organisational standards.
• Managing relationships with technology vendors and service partners to maximise service value.

What you'll bring

We're looking for an experienced technology leader who can combine strategic thinking with hands‑on technical leadership.

You'll ideally have:

• Experience leading and developing technical teams.
• Experience owning or contributing to technology service or domain roadmaps.
• A strong understanding of workplace technology services, including endpoint management, authentication and access, and productivity and collaboration platforms.
• Experience managing operational services and service performance.
• A track record of delivering technology improvements and change initiatives.
• Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
• A passion for continuous improvement, automation and modern engineering practices.
