Job summary

MSD in New Zealand is seeking a motivated Work Broker based in Te Puke to help maximise employment outcomes for clients and employers. You will build relationships with employers, promote vacancies and guide the recruitment process with a services mindset.

This fixed-term/secondment runs to 30 June 2027 with travel around Western Bay of Plenty. A NZ driver licence and ability to travel are essential, with a starting salary around 79,200 to 95,873 NZD per year.

Qualifications

• Experience in recruitment or sales to build employer relationships.
• Targets-driven with ability to meet job placement targets.
• Confident in cold calling, networking and using digital tools.
• Ability to identify opportunities and tailor approach to employer needs.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Willingness to travel within the region.
• Full NZ Driver Licence and ability to travel across Western Bay of Plenty.

You'll need excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong relationships, establish rapport and develop and maintain a network of employers. You'll be a self-starter who is highly organised, collaborative and brings a positive, can-do attitude to everything you do. Most importantly, you'll genuinely want to make a difference — helping employers find the right people while supporting our clients to achieve meaningful employment outcomes. Being technology savvy, you'll be comfortable identifying opportunities, thinking creatively and taking action. What you'll be doing

What you bring

• Proven experience in recruitment, sales, account management, business development, or similar roles where building strong relationships with employers was essential.
• Results-driven mindset with the ability to meet job placement targets, manage competing priorities, and remain resilient through challenges.
• Confident in cold calling, networking, and using digital tools to connect with employers and uncover new opportunities.
• Strong ability to identify job opportunities and tailor your approach—whether through an elevator pitch, proposal, or meeting—based on employer needs and current labour market trends.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly.
• Willingness and flexibility to travel within the region to meet with employers and attend engagement activities as needed.
• A full NZ Driver Licence and the ability to travel around the Western Bay of Plenty region are essential for this role.
