Job summary

The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) is seeking a proactive Work Broker in the Hawke's Bay region to connect local job seekers with employers and sustainable employment solutions. You will build relationships with candidates, employers, and industry stakeholders to identify opportunities and deliver outcomes.

Responsibilities include sourcing vacancies, profiling job seekers, collaborating with Case Managers, and leading recruitment efforts for seasonal and permanent roles.

As aWork Broker, you will play a crucial role in supporting people into employment by engaging with local employers and industries, identifying job opportunities and listing sustainable employment solutions for job seekers.

About the role | Mō te tūnga

• Proactively sourcing vacancies by cold calling, networking, and using your sales and marketing skills to uncover new opportunities for job seekers.
• Profiling job seekers to match them with suitable roles, while building and maintaining professional relationships with both candidates and employers.
• Working closely with Case Managers and other Service Centre staff to support clients in their employment journey.
• Leading recruitment efforts for both seasonal and permanent roles, as well as engaging with industries to support recruitment and training programmes.
• Providing tailored employment solutions that benefit both job seekers and employers.
• Proven experience in recruitment, sales, or a similar role where relationship-building with employers is key.
• A focus on results with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, job placement targets and an ability to navigate setbacks.
• Confidence in cold calling, networking, and using technology to source employment opportunities.
• The ability to identify job opportunities and know what strategies to use to engage employers considering the local labour market.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Flexibility to travel within the region to meet employers as required.
• Please note - This role requires applicants to have a clean full New Zealand Driver Licence.

Salary | Utu-ā-tau: $79,200.00 - $95,873.00
