Job summary

Foodstuffs North Island is seeking an Assistant Category Manager – Wine for a fixed-term contract ending October 2027. You will support day‑to‑day trading, pricing, promotions and range planning, collaborating with suppliers and store teams across New World, PAK’nSAVE and Four Square.

We’re looking for someone analytical and passionate about wine, comfortable handling large data sets and building strong supplier relationships while balancing the needs of national and smaller producers.

Qualifications

• Experience in pricing, promotions or commercial activity in retail or FMCG.
• Ability to analyse sales and margins and identify risks and opportunities.
• Experience supporting relationships with suppliers and producers.

Responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day trading, pricing, promotions and ranging across the Wine category.
• Analyse sales, margin and performance data to identify risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate promotions and launches with accuracy and timelines.
• Respond to store queries and support store teams with wine-related needs.
• Play a key role in the planning and execution of the New World Wine Awards.
