Job summary

Tony's Tyres in Rotorua is seeking a Wheel Alignment Technician. You will perform wheel alignments and related adjustments, test-drive to verify work, and assist with tyre fitting and repairs in a busy workshop.

We hire for attitude as much as experience. A NZ Driver's Licence and a practical interest in vehicles are essential, with comprehensive training provided to build a real career at Tony's Tyres.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform wheel alignments and steering/suspension adjustments using computerised equipment.
• Test-drive vehicles to confirm workmanship.
• Advise customers on tyre options and vehicle needs.
• Assist with tyre fitting, puncture repairs and general workshop duties.
• Complete job cards and paperwork accurately and on time.
• Keep workspace clean, safe and organised.

Job description

Tony's Tyres has been keeping Kiwi drivers safely on the road since 1982, and our Rotorua store is a busy, well-equipped workshop with a team that takes real pride in what they do.

We're looking for a Wheel Alignment Technician to join us - whilst experience is great, work ethic matters more to us. If you've got the attitude, the aptitude, and a genuine interest in vehicles, we'll back you with the training to build a real career here.

The Opportunity

You'll be a key part of our workshop team, performing wheel alignments and adjustments on customer vehicles, and helping customers understand what their vehicle needs and why. You'll also support the wider team with tyre fitments and repairs and get involved in the day-to-day rhythm of a high-performing store.
This is a full-time role working 47.5hrs across Monday to Saturday.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Performing wheel alignments and steering and suspension adjustments using our computerised alignment equipment
• Test-driving vehicles to confirm the work is right before handing back the keys
• Advising customers on tyre options, vehicle handling and what their car actually needs - no jargon, no pressure
• Supporting the team with tyre fitting, puncture repairs and general workshop duties
• Completing job cards and paperwork accurately and on time
• Keeping your workspace clean, safe and organised

What We're Looking For

We hire for attitude as much as experience. You don't need to have run an alignment machine before, but you do need to bring the right foundation:

• A genuine interest in vehicles and hands-on mechanical work
• Good physical fitness - this is active, on-your-feet work
• A customer-first mindset and the confidence to talk people through what you've found
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• A full New Zealand Driver's Licence
• Experienced candidates welcome -if you've worked with wheel alignment equipment or in an automotive workshop before, we'd love to hear about it
