Superior Personnel Ltd seeks an experienced Class 4/5 HIAB driver to transport structural steel across Northland, NZ. You will handle heavy loads with precision, secure loads, and coordinate with site teams on loading and unloading.

The role requires a NZ Class 4 or 5 licence with HIAB experience and 3+ years in heavy transport, ideally in steel or construction sectors. You must reside in New Zealand (Northland preferred) and be able to work on-site in dynamic construction environments.

**Class 4 / 5 Heavy Transport HIAB Driver – Structural Steel**

Are you an experienced, reliable Class 4 or 5 Driver who prides themselves on precision operating?

Our client is looking for a top-tier operator for a vital role transporting high-value structural steel components to construction sites right across Northland. If you know how to handle big loads and tight spaces, we want to hear from you.

What You Will Do:

• Precision Driving: Safely operate Class 4 or 5 HIAB vehicles with heavy loads across urban and highway routes.


• Load Security: Take full responsibility for securing heavy structural steel loads safely and legally.


• Site Coordination: Work closely with yard staff and site crane teams to ensure smooth loading and unloading.


• Compliance & Safety: Run daily pre-start vehicle checks, maintain precise logbooks, and report any maintenance needs immediately.

What You Bring:

• Licensing: A current, clean NZ Class 4 or 5 Driver’s Licence with proven HIAB experience is essential.


• Experience: At least 3+ years of heavy transport driving, ideally within the steel, engineering, or construction sectors.


• Technical Skill: Exceptional reversing skills and total confidence navigating tight, busy construction sites.


• Attributes: Physically fit, punctual, proactive, and professional when representing the business on-site.

Strict Application Criteria – Please Read:

• Location: You must currently reside in New Zealand (preferably already in Northland). Overseas applicants will not be considered.


• Visa Status: You must hold NZ Residency/Citizenship or have at least 2+ years remaining on a valid NZ work visa.


• Experience : Heavy transport and HIAB experience is strictly required. Courier or food delivery backgrounds do not meet the requirements for this role.
