NZCL in Blenheim is looking for energetic people to support individuals in their own homes and communities, helping them live fulfilling lives and achieve personal goals through activities like swimming, sports, arts and shopping.

This part-time role starts at 20 hours per week with potential to increase. A full driver’s license and own vehicle are essential, and you will join a team dedicated to empathy and respect across diverse backgrounds.

What does a Support Worker do? | He aha te mahi a te Kaimahi Tautoko

You will support people in their home and community to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives to achieve their personal dreams and goals by doing the things they want to do such as going swimming, attending sporting events, arts and crafts, movies, or shopping - the list is endless!

This is a part time role starting at 20 hours of work per week with the opportunity to increase these hours over time. We prefer someone who can work the following roster Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday

• People who are passionate about helping others, are kind and understanding.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, including experience working with youth.
• Full driver's license and owning your own vehicle is essential.
• A desire to support people to learn new skills and achieve outcomes.
• Somebody who has the initiative to push people for their goals, is energetic, outgoing, and can think outside the box. You need to be respectful of others thinking, and their way of living life that may be different to your own.

Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness is important in this role as the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
