Job summary

Playcentre is seeking a Centre Coordinator for Tawa-Linden Playcentre in Auckland. This part-time role totals 14.5 hours per week across a Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday schedule, with term-time only permanent status, starting 26 October 2026.

You will collaborate with centre whānau and support staff to build adult capability, enable leadership in sessions, and ensure programmes reflect Playcentre Philosophy, Te Tiriti values and health and safety obligations.

Qualifications

• Experience aligned with Playcentre philosophy and empowering whānau.
• Understanding of Te Whāriki and ECE regulations.
• First Aid certification maintained and up to date.

Responsibilities

• Develop whānau as first educators with rich, child-led experiences.
• Role-model and support delivery of high-quality, whānau-led sessions.
• Advise centre whānau on curriculum, adult education and health and safety.
• Ensure sessions meet Health and Safety obligations and regulations.
• Promote Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles within Playcentre practices.
