Job summary

Metlifecare in Tauranga seeks a part-time Wellness Centre coordinator to support residents across five retirement villages. You will run the Wellness Centre and help residents access external home-based support services, including personal cares and household assistance, to ensure a positive experience.

The role involves travel between villages (28 hours per week) with a current driver’s license and car, offering an excellent hourly rate, travel allowances, and staff benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong customer relationship building experience.
• Exceptional communication skills, written and spoken English.
• Empathy and caring approach to older residents.
• Ability to work autonomously with initiative and good time management.
• Comfort with using technology; First Aid preferred.

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our passionate village teams to work alongside our residents at our 5 stunning retirement villages in the Tauranga/Mt Maunganui/Papamoa Beach areas. In this role you will be responsible for running the Wellness Centre supporting our independent living residents to access external home-based support services (Personal cares and household support) ensuring a positive journey for our residents.

This role is working 28 hours per week travelling between 5 stunning retirement villages, so a current driver’s license and car are essential for the role. We offer excellent hourly rates, travel allowance between villages and great staff benefits.

About you

• Strong customer relationship building experience and proven ability delivering customer-centric solutions.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and spoken English with the ability to communicate in a clear, considerate fashion.
• Previous Aged Care or community health service experience would be highly beneficial.
• Helpful, positive attitude and a caring, respectful manner. You will have empathy for the older person.
• You will have loads of initiative, excellent time management skills and the ability to work with autonomy.
• The ability to use technology with confidence is an essential.
• Current First Aid Certificate is also preferred, but we can support you to obtain this.
