Job summary

Trade Assist in Christchurch is seeking an experienced Welder Fabricator to join a busy workshop. You’ll read drawings, fabricate and assemble components to spec, and operate MIG & TIG welders with a strong eye for detail. A safety-focused, quality-driven approach is essential, with reliable transport and valid NZ work rights.

Trade Assist is on the lookout for experienced Welders to join a growing team in Christchurch. If you’re a hands on tradie who takes pride in your work and enjoys variety, this could be a great opportunity to put your skills to work.
You’ll be working in a solid workshop environment with a steady pipeline of fabrication and welding projects, giving you the chance to tackle different jobs, build on your skills and keep things interesting.

What you’ll be doing:

• Reading and working from technical drawings and fabrication plans
• Fabricating, fitting and assembling components to specification
• Operating welding equipment and workshop tools safely
• Producing quality work with a strong eye for detail
• Maintaining a safe and tidy workshop environment

What we’re looking for:

• Relevant trade qualification and/or solid experience as a Welder Fabricator - MIG & TIG
• Ability to read and understand workshop drawings
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• A strong focus on quality and safe working practices
• Reliable transport
• Valid rights to work in New Zealand
