Job summary

Tradestaff Tauranga is seeking an experienced Welder to join a busy engineering and fabrication environment in Tauranga. You’ll carry out MIG and TIG welding on a range of projects and read engineering drawings.

Based in Tauranga, you’ll work with CNC machinery and workshop equipment, with weekly pay and ongoing training. A commitment to safety and quality is essential, and there is potential for ongoing work.

Qualifications

• Proven welding experience with MIG and TIG processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
• Experience operating CNC machinery in a fabrication environment.
• Strong focus on quality workmanship and safety at all times.
• Reliable, with good communication and problem-solving skills.

Job description

Tradestaff Tauranga is looking for an experienced Welder to join a busy engineering and fabrication environment in Tauranga.

Location: Various locations, Tauranga

Start date: To be confirmed

Pay rate: $33-$35 per hour, depending on experience, with weekly pay

What You'll Be Doing

• Carrying out MIG and TIG welding on a range of fabrication projects


• Fabricating and assembling metal components to specifications


• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings accurately


• Operating CNC machinery and workshop equipment


• Completing general engineering and workshop tasks


• Checking finished work to ensure quality standards are met


• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work environment

What We're Looking For

• Strong fabrication and general engineering experience


• Good welding knowledge and practical workshop skills


• Experience operating CNC machinery


• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately


• Previous experience in manufacturing or production workshops


• Strong communication, problem-solving skills and a reliable attitude


• Solid understanding of workshop health and safety, with pride in quality workmanship
