Job summary

Tradestaff is seeking an experienced Fabricator to join a busy Central Christchurch operation. You will split time between workshop fabrication and onsite installation across commercial projects with some residential work.

Immediate start with a pay rate of NZ$32–38 per hour (depending on experience), and weekly pay. A strong pipeline of projects ensures ongoing work and variety.

Qualifications

• Proven fabrication experience in workshop or site environments.
• Strong MIG welding and general fabrication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings.
• Experience using workshop machinery and fabrication tools.
• Full NZ Driver Licence and reliable transport.
• Commitment to safe, quality workmanship.

Fabricator

Tradestaff is looking for an experienced Fabricator to join a busy Central Christchurch operation with a strong pipeline of work. You'll split your time between workshop fabrication and onsite installation, working mainly across commercial projects with some residential work.

Location: Central City, Christchurch

Start date: Immediate

Pay rate: $32-$38 per hour depending on experience + weekly pay

What You'll Be Doing

• Fabricate and assemble steel components in the workshop


• Complete MIG welding to a high standard


• Measure, cut, prepare and assemble materials accurately


• Read and work from fabrication drawings and specifications


• Use workshop machinery, hand tools and power tools safely


• Carry out onsite installation and fabrication work


• Work across mainly commercial projects with some residential work

What We're Looking For

• Proven fabrication experience in a workshop or site environment


• Strong MIG welding and general fabrication skills


• Confidence reading and interpreting fabrication drawings


• Experience using workshop machinery and fabrication tools


• Previous onsite installation experience


• Full NZ Driver Licence and reliable transport


• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe, quality workmanship
