This 12-month fixed-term, part-time role is based at the Wellington Central campus and requires 13 hours per week, with 5 hours in-class on Saturdays and Sundays and 3 hours for coordination.

The Teaching Assistant will support lecturers, assist with learning activities, grading, and student mentoring while upholding Yoobee’s values and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Management, Business Analytics, Business Informatics or related field.
• Experience as teaching assistant or mentoring is preferred.
• Familiar with LMS platforms (Blackboard, Moodle, Turnitin) and academic tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist lecturers in classroom preparation, tutorial facilitation, and lab sessions.
• Provide student support during and outside of class hours.
• Guide students on tools and platforms for coursework in software engineering and business informatics.
• Assist with grading, moderation prep, and administrative follow-up.
• Help organize student presentations, project milestones, and assessment events.
• Support setup of online platforms and class resources.
• Attend classes on weekends or evenings for in-session support.
• Identify students requiring extra help and refer them accordingly.
