Yoobee Colleges Wellington Campus is seeking a part-time Teaching Assistant for the Master of Management programme. The role is fixed-term for 12 months, based at Wellington Central, with teaching and coordination duties and flexible scheduling across weekends.

The TA will support lecturers, assist in delivering high-quality teaching, and help students engage with software engineering and business informatics coursework while upholding Yoobee’s academic standards.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Management or related discipline is essential.
• Previous teaching assistance, tutoring, mentoring, or relevant experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with LMS platforms and academic tools is expected.
• Experience supporting postgraduate students or research activities is advantageous.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Ability to engage with a diverse postgraduate cohort with empathy.

Responsabilités

• Assist lecturers with classroom prep, tutorials, and labs.
• Provide student support during and outside class hours as scheduled.
• Guide students on tools and platforms used in coursework.
• Assist with grading, moderation prep, and admin follow-up under supervision.
• Help organize student presentations and assessment milestones.
• Support setup of online platforms and class resources.
• Attend classes on weekends or evenings for in-session support when needed.
• Identify students needing extra help and refer to appropriate channels.

Teaching Assistant - Master of Management
Location: Wellington Central
Part-time | Fixed-term | Yoobee Wellington Campus

Please note: The target start date is mid-January 2027. This is a 12-month fixed-term, part-time role based at our Wellington Central campus, working 13 hours per week: 5 hours of in-class teaching each Saturday and Sunday, plus 3 hours for coordination meetings and preparation, scheduled flexibly across the week.

About the role:

The Teaching Assistant will assist in the delivery of high-quality teaching, learning support, and student engagement for the Master of Management Programme. The Teaching Assistant will support lecturers and students to foster a positive and effective academic environment, contribute to the administrative and practical aspects of teaching, and uphold academic standards aligned with Yoobee’s values and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Key Responsibilities will include:

• Assist lecturers in classroom preparation, tutorial facilitation, and lab sessions.
• Provide student support during and outside of class hours (as scheduled).
• Guide students on the use of tools, platforms, and technologies related to coursework in software engineering and Business informatics.
• Assist with grading, moderation preparation, and administrative follow-up under faculty supervision.
• Help organize student presentations, project milestones, and other assessment-related events.
• Support in setting up online platforms, communication channels, and class resources.
• Attend classes on weekends or evenings as required to provide in-session technical and academic support.
• Help identify students who may require additional support and refer them to appropriate channels.

Required Skills/Experience:

• AMaster’s degree in Management, Business Analytics, Business Informatics, Information Systems, or related discipline(essential)
• Prior teachingassistance, tutoring, mentoring, or relevant professional experience (preferred)

Familiarity with LMS platforms (e.g., Blackboard, Moodle, Turnitin) and academic tools

Experience supporting postgraduate students or research activities isadvantageous

Strong communicationand interpersonal skills

Patience, empathy, and the ability to engage with a diverse postgraduate cohort

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Understanding of academic integrity and research ethics
