Job summary

Yoobee Colleges in Wellington Central is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the Master in Business Informatics program. This 12-month fixed-term, part-time role involves 13 hours per week—5 hours in-class each Saturday and Sunday, plus 3 hours for meetings and prep, with flexible scheduling.

The TA will support lecturers, assist with teaching delivery, student engagement, and administrative tasks while upholding Yoobee’s values and Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in relevant field (essential).
• Experience as teaching assistant, tutoring or mentoring (preferred).
• Familiarity with LMS platforms (Blackboard, Moodle, Turnitin).
• Experience with postgraduate students or research activities is advantageous.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist lecturers in classroom preparation, tutorials, and labs.
• Provide student support during and outside of class hours.
• Guide students on tools, platforms, and technologies related to coursework in software engineering and Business Informatics.
• Assist with grading, moderation preparation, and administrative follow-up.
• Help organize student presentations, project milestones, and assessment-related events.
• Support in setting up online platforms, communication channels, and class resources.
• Attend classes on weekends or evenings as required to provide in-session support.
• Identify students who may require additional support and refer them appropriately.
