Job summary

Waikato Waters seeks a Serviceperson - Network to maintain and renew drinking water and wastewater networks across the Waikato region. You will respond to leaks and faults, complete work orders, and support maintenance programs using mobile systems.

A trade qualification or equivalent experience is essential, along with a clean NZ Driver Licence. We value a practical, customer-focused approach, strong problem-solving skills, and willingness to learn new safety practices.

Qualifications

• A trade qualification or equivalent practical experience in drinking water supply, wastewater, civil construction, utilities or a related field.
• Experience maintaining or constructing underground networks or similar infrastructure.
• A full, clean New Zealand Driver Licence, with appropriate class endorsements desirable.
• Sound awareness of safe excavation, confined space, traffic management and underground utility work, or willingness to obtain training.
• A practical, customer-focused approach with strong problem-solving skills and comfort using mobile tech to record work and asset information.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining, repairing and renewing drinking water and wastewater network assets.
• Responding to leaks, blockages, overflows and other faults safely and efficiently.
• Completing work orders, asset updates and maintenance records using mobile systems.
• Supporting planned maintenance, renewals, emergency response and after-hours call-out activities.
