Waikato Waters is seeking a proactive Water Treatment Technician to operate and monitor our water and wastewater treatment plants across the Waikato region. You’ll contribute to safe drinking water delivery, environmental protection, and continuous improvement in plant performance.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in water treatment, wastewater treatment, engineering, environmental science or related field.
• Experience operating water and/or wastewater treatment plants or in related process operations.
• Understanding of water treatment or process operations.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Full New Zealand Driver Licence.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor water and wastewater treatment plants to ensure safe, reliable performance.
• Carry out routine inspections, monitoring, sampling and testing activities.
• Optimize treatment processes to maintain compliance and improve plant performance.
• Identify and respond to operational issues, alarms, and equipment faults.
• Support planned and reactive maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate operational records and contribute to reporting and compliance.
• Collaborate with colleagues and contractors to continuously improve plant performance.
