Tiaki Wai is seeking a driven network engineer-in-training to strengthen drinking water, wastewater and stormwater networks across the Wellington region. You will work with customers and specialist engineers to resolve issues and support capital delivery teams in providing safe, reliable water services.

The role focuses on technical advisory, field assessment, and collaboration across teams, with a strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement and problem solving in a dynamic outdoor setting.

Formación

• Relevant technical or trade qualification (engineering qualification desirable).
• Strong problem-solving, investigative, and analytical skills.
• Experience in customer service and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office, with readiness to learn our work tracking management system.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams while managing competing priorities.
• Full NZ Class 1 driver’s licence as outdoor duties required.

Responsabilidades

• Provide technical advice to operational teams on water, stormwater, and wastewater issues.
• Scope requirements for minor works programmes and support improvement work with contractors and engineering specialists.
• Investigate complex network faults and determine the appropriate resolution or scope of works.
• Review completed maintenance works and verify compliance with standards and specifications.
• Engage with customers and stakeholders to address enquiries and maintain positive relationships.
• Support network monitoring and analyse performance fluctuations to inform operational decision-making and address issues.
