Job summary

Worley Wellington is seeking a Project Engineer – Water to lead delivery of critical water infrastructure across New Zealand. Based in Wellington, you will work with our Water Sector Lead to drive resilient, sustainable solutions and accelerate your technical and project delivery capabilities.

You will collaborate with local government, utilities and contractors on end-to-end projects, from design through commissioning, ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery while supporting business

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Process, Environmental, or related Engineering with water focus.
  • Experience delivering three waters or similar water infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with local government, water authorities, or utilities is highly regarded.
  • Understanding of water treatment, wastewater treatment, pipelines, pump stations, and storage/facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a variety of water infrastructure projects across municipal, industrial and utilities sectors.
  • Support the delivery of water treatment, wastewater treatment, pipelines, pump stations, storage and network infrastructure projects.
  • Partner with local government, water authorities, contractors and industrial clients to deliver practical, sustainable solutions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams including civil, mechanical, process, electrical and structural specialists.
  • Set clear objectives for project teams including scope, schedule, productivity and budget targets.
  • Coordinate project activities to ensure successful technical delivery from concept through commissioning.
  • Administer projects, contracts and Worley processes to meet business and customer objectives.
  • Maintain a strong health, safety and environmental focus across design, procurement and execution activities.
  • Monitor project performance, manage change, and support effective risk identification and mitigation.
  • Contribute to business development activities and identify opportunities to grow Worley’s water business.

Education

Civil/Mechanical/Environmental Engineering degree with water focus
