Job summary

Kuehne & Nagel at Auckland airport is seeking an Air Logistics Warehouse Specialist to support the day-to-day warehouse operations, including cross-checking, labelling and loading cargo while meeting regulatory and safety requirements. You will work 45 hours per week in a permanent role as part of the Air Logistics Warehouse Team.

The role requires at least 1 year in freight warehousing, familiarity with health and safety in a warehouse, and good communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year’s experience in a freight warehousing environment.
• Understanding of Health and Safety in a warehouse environment.
• Experience with inwards/outwards goods processes and documentation is preferred.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.
• Weekend work and flexible start/finish times required.

Responsibilities

• Complete all duties relating to warehousing of inbound and outbound cargo, including cross-checking documentation, cargo labelling, reporting discrepancies, and loading as per specifications.
• Use knowledge of international regulatory requirements to ensure country-specific legal requirements are met.
• Check in, count and measure cargo as required.
• Perform general cleaning and maintenance of cargo handling facility.
• Ensure all processes including cargo handling, unloading, labelling and delivery meet customer service standards.
• Model safe practices and operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts) safely in line with procedures.
• Keep warehouse, chillers, yard and equipment clean and compliant with MPI, NZFSA, CAA part 109 standards.

We are looking for areliable, hardworking and conscientious candidateto fill a crucial rolein our Warehouse team,on a permanent basis (45 hours per week). As an Air Logistics Warehouse Specialist, and a member of the Air Logistics Warehouse Team, you will contribute to the day-to-day operation of Kuehne+Nagel's international warehouse, including cross-checking, labelling and loading cargo, while meeting customer service, regulatory and health and safety requirements.

Your tasks and responsibilities

Complete all duties relating to warehousing of inbound and outbound cargo, including cross-checking documentation, cargo labelling, reporting discrepancies, and loading as per specifications

Use your knowledge and understanding of international regulatory requirements to ensure country specific legal requirements are adhered to

Checking in, counting and measuring cargo, as required

General cleaning duties and maintenance of cargo handling facility

Ensure that all operational processes including cargo handling, unloading, labelling and delivery requirements are achieved within agreed specific customer service standards

Embody a culture of health and safety, actively role modelling best practice behaviours, including safely operating warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts) in compliance with safety procedures

To ensure that the warehouse, chillers, yard and equipment are kept clean and tidy meeting the company, MPI, NZFSA, CAA part 109 standards

Skills and experience (required)

Minimum 1 years’ experience in a freight warehousing environment

An understanding of Health and Safety in a warehouse environment

Experience with inwards/outwards goods processes and documentation is preferred

Good level of communication both written and verbal

Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications

Weekend work and flexible start/finish times will be required.

Skills and experience (preferred however not essential)

Perishables experience is advantageous, however not essential

A current biosecurity accreditation is preferred but not essential

A current load and restraint certificate is preferred but not essential

Please note, our Warehouse operates on a rostered shift pattern Monday - Sunday, with shift variations between the hours of 6:00am - 6:30pm. This roster pattern may change depending on business needs.
