Job summary

Northpower NZ is seeking a hands-on Warehouse Supervisor in New Plymouth to co-ordinate day-to-day operations—receiving, storing and issuing goods, maintaining accurate stock records and ensuring stock is available when needed.

You will lead a small team, drive continuous improvement, manage cycle counts, liaise with operations and suppliers, and ensure a safe, well-organised warehouse while seeking cost-saving opportunities.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Logistics or a related field is required.
• 3+ years’ experience in warehouse, inventory or logistics management within an operational environment.
• Experience leading people, managing performance and coaching others.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with field staff, managers and suppliers.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day warehouse operations: receiving, storing and issuing goods, maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Coordinate annual stocktakes and monthly cycle counts; manage warehouse logistics, deliveries and order fulfilment.
• Proactively manage inventory levels to minimise stockouts and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain a clean, safe and efficient warehouse; oversee depot requirements like waste management, recycling and security.
• Build strong relationships with Operations, suppliers and stakeholders; contribute to process improvements.
