Job summary

Baby Bunting is seeking a Warehouse Assistant at our Albany store on Auckland's North Shore. This permanent part-time position supports stock flow from storeroom to sales floor and helps maintain inventory accuracy in a busy retail environment.

You’ll unpack and label merchandise, process deliveries, and operate equipment such as pallet jack, walkie stacker, and trolley. Prior storeroom or retail experience is preferred, and training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Retail storeroom experience in a retail environment.
• Customer service experience is desirable.
• Ability to operate machinery such as Pallet Jack, Walkie Stacker and trolley with training provided.
• Self-sufficiency and ability to work unsupervised.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and POS systems.
• Ability to lift up to 15kg, 10kg overhead and 45kg with assistance.
• Must undergo a Ministry of Justice check.

The area is easily accessible via the Northern Motorway, with ample parking available onsite and within the centre, and is also well serviced by local bus routes. With Albany Mall, cafés and a wide range of dining options nearby, it offers a convenient and well‑connected location for both work and breaks.

Employment Type – Permanent Part-Time

Roster – Monday–Wednesday 8:30am–4:45pm | Sunday 10:00am–5:15pm

About the Role

As a Warehouse Assistant, you’ll work back of house in a retail storeroom ensuring stock integrity, as well as maintaining an efficient flow of merchandise from the storeroom to the sales floor. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about supporting the team and thrives in a dynamic retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Unpack, label, and organize merchandise efficiently and in an orderly manner.
• Receive and process incoming deliveries, ensuring accuracy of items and quantities.
• Utilize various machinery such as Pallet Jack, Walkie Stacker, and trolley.
• Use the Inwards/Outwards Goods Register for all inbound/outbound stock movement.
• Provide friendly customer service and support customers with pickups of their purchased items.
• Maintain store floor and stockroom standards.

You’re a proactive and reliable individual who thrives in a fast‑paced retail environment. You have a genuine passion for supporting the team and ensuring smooth operations.

Requirements

• Retail Storeroom Experience: 2–3 years of experience in a retail storeroom environment is preferred but not essential.
• Customer Service Experience: Previous customer service experience is highly desirable.
• Machinery Experience: Ability to operate various machinery such as Pallet Jack, Walkie Stacker, WAVe, and trolley. Not essential as training will be provided.
• Self‑Sufficiency: Ability to work unsupervised and take initiative.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using inventory management software and point‑of‑sale systems.
• Physical Requirements: Able to lift up to 15kgs between floor and shoulder, 10kgs above shoulder height on your own & 45kgs with the help of another team member. Ability to wear a headset to communicate with the team on the shop floor.
• Must undergo a Ministry of Justice check due to the nature of the work.
