Job summary

Baby Bunting is seeking a Retail Sales Assistant at our Albany, Auckland store. You will deliver exceptional customer service, assist new and expectant parents, demonstrate products, and maintain stock and presentation in a busy retail environment.

The role is permanent part-time, with a Thursday and Sunday roster, offering a competitive hourly rate. MoJ check may be required as part of safer hiring practices and a friendly, supportive team culture.

Located in the Albany retail hub on Auckland’s North Shore, this store sits within a busy shopping precinct surrounded by major retailers and everyday conveniences, creating strong customer traffic throughout the day. The area is easily accessible via the Northern Motorway, with ample parking available onsite and within the centre, and is also well serviced by local bus routes. With Albany Mall, cafés and a wide range of dining options nearby, it offers a convenient and well-connected location for both work and breaks.

Roster– Thursday 10:30am–5:30pm | Sunday 10:30am–5:00pm

About the Role

As a Retail Sales Assistant, you’ll be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, fostering a positive shopping experience, and supporting new and expectant parents on their journey. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about helping others and thrives in a dynamic retail environment.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

• Customer Engagement – Connect with and understand the needs of new and expectant parents, providing personalised assistance and product recommendations.
• Product Demonstration – Guide customers through product features and benefits, ensuring they make informed choices.
• Stock Management – Maintain accurate stock levels and ensure the store is well-presented and organised.
• Flexible Scheduling – Work a rotating roster of flexible shifts across weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

About You

You’re a proactive and approachable individual who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment. You have a genuine passion for helping others and delivering exceptional customer service.

What you bring to the team:

• Prior Customer Service Experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• High Standards in customer service and store presentation.
• Proficient in calming irate customers and resolving issues with empathy and professionalism.
• Physical Requirements: Able to lift up to 15kgs between floor and shoulder, 10kgs above shoulder height. Ability to wear a headset to communicate with the team on the shop floor. Stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
