Vinecraft Limited is seeking an experienced Team Leader to supervise a Marlborough vineyard work team. This hands-on role oversees daily performance, productivity, safety and wellbeing of staff including NZ and RSE workers.

You’ll work with the Field Operations Manager, clients and other Team Leaders to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to standard. The role requires proven leadership in viticulture or agriculture, with a focus on coaching, quality, and reliable records.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading or supervising a team in viticulture, agriculture, or labour contracting.
  • Good understanding of vineyard tasks, productivity expectations and quality standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coach, motivate and manage a culturally diverse workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team to complete daily vineyard work to client specifications and seasonal targets.
  • Conduct daily briefings covering work plans, quality expectations and health and safety requirements.
  • Monitor productivity and quality and provide practical coaching for improvement.
  • Complete accurate daily attendance, piecework and job information.
  • Carry out regular quality checks and record issues identified.
  • Support induction and training of new team members.
  • Maintain a positive, respectful and culturally supportive team environment.
  • Identify and escalate performance, conduct or wellbeing concerns.
  • Liaise with vineyard managers, owners and Vinecraft management.
  • Ensure vehicles, tools, equipment and PPE are used safely and appropriately.

Vinecraft Limited is looking for an experienced and capable Team Leader to supervise one of our vineyard work teams across Marlborough. This is a hands‑on leadership role suited to someone who understands vineyard operations, takes pride in producing quality work and knows how to bring out the best in a team. You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day performance, productivity, safety and wellbeing of an assigned team made up of RSE and New Zealand workers. You will work closely with our Field Operations Manager, clients and other Team Leaders to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

Key responsibilities
  • Leading the team to complete daily vineyard work to client specifications and seasonal targets
  • Conducting daily briefings covering work plans, quality expectations and health and safety requirements
  • Monitoring productivity and quality and providing practical coaching where improvement is needed
  • Completing accurate daily attendance, piecework and job information

  • Supporting the induction and training of new team members

About you
  • Previous experience leading or supervising a team within viticulture, agriculture or a labour contracting environment
  • A sound understanding of vineyard tasks, productivity expectations and quality standards
  • Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to coach, motivate and manage a culturally diverse workforce
  • A practical understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records
  • A calm, fair and consistent approach to managing people
