Job summary

Marisco Vineyards is seeking an experienced Vineyard Foreperson to join Leefield Station Vineyard in the Waihopai Valley. This hands‑on leadership role coordinates daily vineyard activities, supports staff, and ensures work is completed safely and efficiently.

You will work with the Vineyard Management Team to coordinate operations and seasonal activities, lead staff and contractors, and promote a strong health and safety culture. A NZ Driver Licence is required.

Qualifications

• Previous vineyard or horticultural experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and support a diverse team.
• Practical, solutions‑focused attitude.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Strong commitment to health and safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Current New Zealand Driver Licence.
• Legal right to work in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily vineyard activities with the management team.
• Lead and support vineyard staff, seasonal workers and contractors.
• Monitor work quality and ensure SOPs are followed.
• Support worker training, inductions and competency development.
• Promote safe work practices and health and safety culture.
• Assist with equipment checks, maintenance reporting and records.
• Support harvest operations and seasonal projects as required.
• Act as a key link between staff and management.
