Job summary

The Landing Wines in the Bay of Islands is seeking casual Vineyard Assistants to help in the winery and vineyard. You will support pruning, planting, trellis work, and harvest tasks across our sustainable estate.

Qualifications

• Experience in vineyard operations such as pruning, trellis work, creeping removal, harvesting helps.
• Ability to plant, tie, train and manage vines throughout the growing season.
• Good teamwork and adaptability in a busy vineyard/winery environment.
• Ability to follow guidance and maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist with vineyard operations including pruning, cane removal, tying.
• Planting grapevines and trellis work.
• Leaf removal, shoot and fruit thinning.
• Training and supporting vines through the season.
• Harvesting fruit and netting vines.

About The Landing Wines

The Landing Wines is located in the Bay of Islands, and is a boutique, sustainably managed vineyard and acclaimed winery producing award-winning, small-batch wines. The vineyard, first established in 2007 and recently expanded to a total planted area of 13.5 hectares, primarily produces Chardonnay and Syrah, while smaller plantings of other varieties contribute to a diverse portfolio of 100% estate grown wines.

The Landing’s vineyards form a core part of a 400‑hectare world‑class coastal destination which also offers luxury accommodation, heritage conservation, ecological restoration and elevated food and wine experiences.

We are looking for casual Vineyard Assistants in the winery and vineyard.

Essential skills and experience

• Assist with Vineyard operations including: pruning, cane removal, tying
• Planting grapevines
• Trellis work
• Leaf removal
• Shoot and fruit thinning
• Training vines
• Harvesting fruit
• Netting vines
• All other tasks involved with vineyard management as can be reasonably requested.
