Job summary

Metlifecare is seeking an Assistant Village Manager for our Fairway Gardens village in Golflands, Auckland. Reporting to the Village Manager, you will help oversee service delivery, finances and staff management with residents at the heart of every decision.

The role is 40 hours per week, Thursday to Monday, requiring weekend availability. You will support leadership, build strong resident relationships and contribute to business planning while embracing a proactive risk management approach.

Qualifications

• Experience assisting or involvement in the operational management of a "people" business.
• Skilled communicator with the ability to build meaningful relationships with residents, staff and internal/external customers.
• Previous contractor management (gardener, F&B, deliveries, couriers, trades, 3rd party providers, security) would be advantageous.
• Experience in the retirement village sector would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a respectful leadership style that facilitates operational efficiency, profitability, and appropriate people management practices.
• Maintain effective communication and consultation with residents.
• Assist and support the Village Manager in developing business plans for service and product delivery.
• Assist in ensuring risk management is conducted professionally to minimise exposure.
