Job summary

Metlifecare's Palmerston North Village seeks a Village Manager to lead day-to-day operations, nurture a resident-focused culture, and ensure a safe, engaging environment for residents and staff.

You will inspire teams, manage finances including P&L, and collaborate with residents, families and internal partners to deliver high-quality aged care in a dynamic community setting.

About the Role

At Metlifecare, our villages are vibrant communities where residents feel connected, supported and proud to call home. Our Palmerston North Village is no exception, it is bustling with activity and known for it’s warm environment and friendly staff and residents

Your ability to build relationships, communicate clearly and keep residents at the heart of decision-making will be key to your success. As Village Manager, you’ll be the trusted face of the Village, leading day-to-day operations, supporting our people, and ensuring residents enjoy a safe, engaging and well-run environment.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will:

• Provide strong, visible leadership across the Village
• Work closely with residents, families, teams and internal partners
• Support a positive culture where communication is open, timely and respectful
• Maintain solid financial performance including P&L management
• Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes and service delivery
• Champion quality, safety and wellbeing for residents and staff

• Operational management expertise in a people or service-focused business
• A resident-first mindset with empathy, professionalism, and a strong service ethic
• Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills, with a natural ability to influence, collaborate, and engage, including responsiveness and follow-through
• A commitment to operational excellence with strong process, systems, and quality improvement capability
• Financial acumen including sales focus and P&L ownership
