Job summary

Macmahon Underground is returning to New Zealand and seeking experienced Bogger Operators to join the Snowy River Gold Mine Project near Reefton on the South Island. The role supports underground development, production and backfill services, with operations starting in October 2026.

We require safety-focused professionals with at least 12 months of underground loader experience operating Sandvik and CAT equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months experience operating Sandvik and CAT underground loaders.
• Strong safety focus and ability to speak up.
• Team mindset and reliable work ethic.
• NZ Class 1 license (unrestricted) with DG endorsement desirable.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate Sandvik and CAT underground loaders.
• Inspect loaders regularly and report damages.
• Complete end-of-shift reports and required documents.
• Communicate clearly with team and supervisors.
• Keep ore, low grade, marginal and waste streams separated and tracked.

Role Details

• Location: Snowy River Gold Mine Project – Reefton, New Zealand’s South Island
• Roster: 7:7 (Local) or 14:14 (FIFO)
• Accommodation allowance provided for local personnel
• Flights, transport and accommodation provided for FIFO personnel

About the Role

Macmahon Underground is returning to New Zealand and seeking experienced Bogger Operators to join the Snowy River Gold Mine Project near Reefton on New Zealand’s South Island.

As part of this exciting opportunity, Macmahon will deliver underground development, production and backfill services from October 2026.

We are looking for safety-focused operators with proven underground mining experience operating Sandvik and CAT Load-Haul-Dump (LHD) equipment. Successful candidates will play a key role in supporting safe and productive underground operations while contributing to our growing underground team.

Responsibilities

• Safe, efficient operation of the Sandvik and CAT underground loaders.
• Conduct regular inspection of the loader and report any damages.
• Ensure accurate end of shift reports and other relevant documents are completed and submitted
• Provide clear and effective communication.
• Keep the trucks operating at full efficiency ensuring all ore, low grade, marginal and waste are kept separate.
• Prepared to undertake other tasks and labouring duties as required.
• Complete pre-starts and report hazards or defects immediately.
• Follow plans, instructions and traffic management rules.

What You’ll Bring
