Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking a Tunnel Manager to lead safety, operations and maintenance on the Northland Corridor project in New Zealand. You will report to the Maintenance and Operations Manager and oversee the M&E/ITS Tunnel Engineer.

This role requires strong leadership, clear stakeholder engagement with NZTA and emergency services, and a focus on RAMS and lifecycle planning to ensure long-term asset performance and safety.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering with leadership of tunnel or M&E/ITS operations.
• Proven knowledge of NZTA requirements and RAMS/lifecycle planning.
• Safety leadership, incident response and investigations.
• Budgeting, forecasting, contract governance and claims management.
• Strong stakeholder engagement with emergency services and agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead tunnel safety, maintenance and operation.
• Plan lifecycle, inspection and testing for tunnels.
• Coordinate delivery between design, construction, maintenance and operations teams.
• Review designs and construction for budget, risk and constructability.
• Develop a safety-first team culture and mentor staff.
