The Truck Driver & Fleet Logistics Coordinator is responsible for operating the company's Class 2 rubbish collection truck across a growing portfolio of approximately 70 holiday homes, with additional properties expected to be added as the businesses continue to grow. Rubbish collection and truck operation are core responsibilities of this position. The role also supports linen transportation and logistics and assists with the safe and efficient operation of the company vehicle fleet. The businesses currently operate approximately 20 vehicles, including cleaning vehicles, laundry delivery vans, company vehicles and a rubbish collection truck.
Drive and operate the company Class 2 rubbish collection truck safely and responsibly
Complete scheduled rubbish collection routes across approximately 70 holiday homes, with additional properties expected to be added as the portfolio grows
Collect rubbish from holiday homes following guest checkouts and in accordance with operational schedules
Plan and coordinate efficient rubbish collection routes around guest checkout times, cleaning schedules and operational requirements
Safely manoeuvre the truck at holiday homes and collection locations and safely load and transport collected rubbish
Transport collected rubbish to approved transfer stations or disposal facilities
Conduct pre-start and regular vehicle safety checks, including tyres, lights, fluids, warning indicators and general roadworthiness
Drive company vans to complete scheduled linen deliveries and collections
Collect used linen and deliver clean linen to holiday homes, cleaning teams and operational locations
Support the day-to-day operation and condition of the company fleet of approximately 20 vehicles and help ensure the fleet remains safe, reliable, compliant and available for operational use
Hold a valid New Zealand Class 2 Driver Licence, or be legally entitled to operate the required Class 2 vehicle in New ZealandA.For the right candidate, we are open to supporting and paying for the successful applicant to obtain their Class 2 licence.
Have relevant experience driving trucks or commercial vehicles
Demonstrate safe and responsible driving practices and a good understanding of New Zealand road safety requirements
Be confident operating a rubbish collection truck and manoeuvring a commercial vehicle safely in residential and holiday-home areas
Be physically capable of safely completing loading, unloading and rubbish collection duties
Be able to conduct basic pre-start and vehicle safety checks and identify obvious defects or maintenance concerns
Be organised and able to plan and complete scheduled collection and delivery routes efficiently
Be capable of maintaining accurate vehicle, collection and fleet records
Be reliable, punctual, able to work independently and communicate operational issues promptly
Be comfortable operating different company vehicles, including the Class 2 rubbish truck and linen delivery vans
