Job summary

Awanui Labs is offering a Trainee or Phlebotomist role in the Patient Services team across the Wairarapa region on a casual, part-time basis. Training will be provided for the right candidate, with duties spanning community and hospital settings and a focus on accurate specimen collection and handling.

The role requires flexibility across weekdays and weekends, and is not intended for students due to shift patterns.

Qualifications

• Methodical approach adhering to quality procedures.
• Customer-focused with strong interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory operations is desirable but not essential.
• Diploma in Applied Science or Bachelor of Science would be an advantage.
• Registration with the Medical Sciences Council and APC as a Medical Laboratory Pre-Analytical Technician is desirable but not essential.
• NZ full or restricted driver's licence.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
