Steam Brewing Company – Auckland, North Island

Trainee Filler Operator wanted for our busy beverage bottling and canning line. While full hands‑on training is provided, this role involves working with semi‑manual and traditional filling equipment rather than fully automated lines. We are looking for someone with work experience in any industry and a strong work ethic, who has the mechanical aptitude to learn technical setups, pressure adjustments, and liquid flow controls, alongside good written and spoken English for accurate production reporting and safety communication.

If you are hands‑on, eager to master the mechanical side of beverage packaging, and take pride in doing a job well, we want to hear from you.

What You Will Do

Set up and operate semi‑manual beverage filling equipment, learning to adjust valves, gauges, and liquid pressures for different product runs.

Perform changeovers and mechanical adjustments when switching between different bottle or can sizes, formats, and recipes.

Monitor carbonation, pressures, and fill levels during production, making hands‑on manual corrections as needed.

Complete written production logs and reports, accurately tracking outputs, downtime, and quality metrics.

Execute thorough cleaning, sanitation, and teardown of filling heads and lines to maintain food‑grade hygiene standards.

What We Are Looking For

Work experience in any industry (hospitality, trades, construction, retail, warehousing, etc.) demonstrating a dependable, hardworking ethic.

Good mechanical aptitude and a genuine desire to learn equipment setups, pressure dynamics, and hands‑on adjustments.

Solid spoken and written English skills to understand technical instructions, coordinate with team members, and complete written shift reports.

High attention to detail regarding product quality, hygiene, and machinery care.

Exceptional reliability, punctuality, and physical fitness to handle active, hands‑on production work.

What We Offer

Comprehensive, paid on‑the‑job training in traditional and hands‑on beverage filling techniques.

Competitive starting wage with opportunities for growth as your setup and technical skills develop.

A supportive, close‑knit team environment where your practical problem‑solving skills will be valued.
