Job summary

Hutt City Council is seeking a traffic management coordinator to review, approve and audit temporary traffic management plans for Lower Hutt. You will support compliance with the NZ Guide to Temporary Traffic Management and work with council teams and contractors to ensure safe, efficient road networks.

You will help prepare the transport network for emergencies, participate in risk assessments, and build strong relationships with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the New Zealand Guide to Temporary Traffic Management.
• Current full New Zealand driver’s license.
• Experience reviewing or auditing traffic management plans is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Review, approve and audit temporary traffic management plans.
• Support compliance with the NZ Guide to Temporary Traffic Management.
• Build effective relationships with stakeholders and council teams.
• Assist emergency planning and preparedness for floods, slips and severe weather.
• Contribute to network risk assessments and emergency procedures.
