Job summary

Plumbing World in Wellington is actively seeking a motivated Trade Sales Supervisor to lead the trade area and deliver exceptional service to our trade customers. You will coach the trade team, coordinate stock movements, and step in for the Branch Manager as needed.

About The Opportunity

Plumbing World is looking for a motivated and experienced Trade Sales Supervisor to join our team in Wellington.

As our Trade Sales Supervisor, you'll play a pivotal leadership role within the branch, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the trade area while supporting and developing your team to deliver exceptional service to our valued trade customers.

This is a hands-on role where you'll lead by example - particularly during our busy early morning trade rush - ensuring customers receive prompt, efficient, and friendly service. You'll also support branch operations by coordinating stock movements, coaching team members, and stepping into a leadership role in the absence of the Branch Manager.

Your Responsibilities

• Oversee the efficient day-to-day running of the trade area.
• Lead from the front with exceptional customer service and sales ability.
• Assist the Branch Manager in supervising and developing the trade team.
• Prioritise and coordinate daily team schedules to ensure key projects are completed on time.
• Handle customer queries and provide tailored product and delivery solutions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with trade clients and team members.
• Monitor and report stock issues to the Branch Inventory Controller.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety within the branch.

This is a full-time permanent position, working between 40-42.50 hours per week, Monday to Friday position with rostered Saturdays.

Specific start and finish times will be discussed during the interview stage.

A Quick Glance At What We Need From You

• Previous experience in team leadership or supervision, preferably in the trade/building/construction industry.
• Knowledge of plumbing products and the industry is advantageous but not essential (we will train you!)
• A proactive and positive attitude - we value the right mindset over experience.
• A customer-focused approach with strong communication skills.
• Ability to think on your feet and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, organised, and self-motivated.

To be successful in this role you will need to bring

• Good with numbers and attention to detail.
• Sound administration and logical problem-solving skills.
• Work well under pressure while displaying good sound logic.
• Excellent sales & customer service skills.
• Competent computer skills.
• Full, clean New Zealand driver's licence.
• Physically fit as there will be some heavy lifting (up to 20kgs)
• Well-presented with excellent interpersonal communication.
