You are a customer-focused travel and tourism professional who enjoys building relationships, creating memorable travel experiences and bringing the details together behind the scenes. You will be organised, proactive and confident communicating with customers, suppliers and colleagues. You will take pride in delivering a high-quality service and ensuring every tour is well planned, well communicated and enjoyable for our clients.
We have two full-time Tour Coordinator roles available. You will be working within the small but mighty Tours team, helping to design, coordinate and deliver exceptional tour experiences throughout New Zealand, with a strong focus on the active New Zealander.
You will provide high-quality sales and service support by developing tours, responding to enquiries, preparing accurate itineraries and coordinating bookings across phone, email and face-to-face channels.
Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings through timely, professional and proactive customer service across the sales, booking and pre-departure process.
Create and coordinate new and repeat tour itineraries, including destination, supplier and product research.
Prepare and proofread accurate itineraries, quotes, passenger information, tour documentation and final travel details.
Support pricing, supplier confirmations, passenger lists and operational handovers as required.
Coordinate bookings and confirm arrangements with accommodation, attraction, coach and other tourism suppliers.
Maintain accurate booking records, customer information and tour administration within Tranzit Tours systems, including invoicing, supplier payments and tour costs.
Work closely with suppliers, the wider Tranzit Tours team and operations teams to ensure tours are well planned, communicated and delivered to a high standard.
Manage customer expectations and resolve booking or coordination issues promptly and professionally.
Support promotional activity for tours, including providing accurate information for brochures, newsletters and marketing campaigns.
Contribute to health and safety processes, customer care requirements, tour documentation and incident reporting obligations.
Provide occasional tour guiding support, including at least once a year where required, to stay connected with the on-ground customer experience.
Previous experience in tourism, travel, customer service or a similar coordination role.
Strong customer service skills and confidence communicating by phone, email and face to face.
Great attention to detail, including the ability to prepare accurate travel information and documentation.
The ability to stay organised, manage competing priorities and follow tasks through.
Excellent computer skills and confidence learning booking and administration systems.
A positive, practical approach and a willingness to pitch in with the team.
A genuine interest and passion in travel and creating memorable experiences for customers.
The ability to build good relationships with customers, suppliers and the wider Tranzit team.
