Job summary

Cheeky Kiwi Travel in Auckland is seeking Guide/Drivers to host day tours during the peak season from November to April 2027. You will transport guests from Auckland to iconic locations like Hobbiton and Waitomo, while delivering engaging commentary and standout customer experiences.

The role requires weekend and public holiday availability, a NZ Passenger Endorsement, and the ability to work with up to 16 guests on tours. Great remuneration awaits in a vibrant team environment.

Qualifications

• Outgoing and friendly personality required.
• Must hold NZ Passenger Endorsement on a full NZ driver’s license.
• Extensive knowledge about New Zealand and its culture.
• High level of English.
• Excellent driving skills with ability to provide engaging commentary.
• Strong storytelling and guest engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely pick up and transport customers to tourist attractions and back.
• Guide tours and share stories about New Zealand and local culture.
• Lead guests through attractions as needed.
• Ensure guests have an amazing, carefree and fun trip.

Cheeky Kiwi Travel is one of the top small group tour operators in New Zealand. We run tours from Auckland, Christchurch, Queenstown and Te Anau to the most epic attractions across New Zealand, including; Milford Sound, Mt Cook, Hobbiton, Waitomo Caves, Rotorua and Tekapo.

We love showing off our amazing country and delivering fun and memorable experiences to our guests.

Who we are looking for.

We are heading into a bumper summer season, which runs from November until the end of April 2027. We are looking for Guide/Drivers to host day tours from Auckland during this period. We run small group tours (up to 16 people) to Hobbiton, Waitomo, Rotorua, Bay of Islands, Coromandel and Taupo.

Initially working weekends, this can be extended to additional hours during the week.

About you

You will;

Have rights to work in New Zealand (we cannot sponsor work visas)

Be a great storyteller and enjoy meeting new people

Working weekends and public holidays - this just comes with being a guide.

Task & Responsibilities

• Safely picking up and transporting customers to the tourist attractions and back.
• Guiding them through the trip and telling stories about the area, New Zealand andour culture etc.
• Guiding customers through attractions where needed.
• Ensuring thatour customershave an amazing trip that is carefree and fun.

Skills and experience

• Outgoing and friendlyperson that will engage with our guests and go the extra mile to make their day.
• Currently have a NZ Passenger Endorsement
• Extensive Knowledge about New Zealand and it's culture.
• High level of English.
• Excellent driving skills and able to drive while providing commentary and entertaining customers.
