Job summary

Ara Poutama Aotearoa - Department of Corrections is seeking Programme Facilitators to work with people in our care across Wellington sites and community corrections. You will deliver clinically designed rehabilitation programmes, individually or with a co‑facilitator, to support understanding and change of harmful behaviours.

The role emphasizes manaaki, respect, and whānau, with an assessment centre and start date in early 2027.

Qualifications

• Excellent listening and communication with participants and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn Kaupapa Māori practices.
• Experience or openness to feedback and growth in practice.
• Experience with report writing is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Deliver clinically designed therapeutic rehabilitation programmes, individually or in groups.
• Support people to understand and address the causes of offending to create crime-free futures.
• Collaborate with a co-facilitator and uphold manaaki, kaitiaki, wairua, rangatira and whānau in practice.
