Job summary

The Department of Corrections NZ in Hamilton is seeking a trained and experienced Programme Facilitator to support offence-focused rehabilitation within Tai Aroha, a 16-week residential unit for men at high risk of violent reoffending and family harm.

In this permanent, part-time role (32 hours per week), you will deliver a range of therapeutically designed programmes, individually or with a co-facilitator, as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in psychology, social work, or counselling.
• Experience delivering therapeutic programmes.
• Ability to work with diverse backgrounds and cultures.
• Knowledge of Kaupapa Māori practices is desirable.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver clinically designed therapeutic programmes individually or with a co-facilitator.
• Support residents to understand causes of offending and work toward crime-free futures.
• Work within a multi-disciplinary team to achieve rehabilitation outcomes.
• Maintain accurate reports and participate in feedback processes.
• Travel to other locations as required.
