Job summary

John Brooks / Techtop New Zealand is seeking an External Sales Engineer to join our North Island team in Auckland. You will manage a portfolio of clients and actively grow new business across the North Island, balancing account management with development work.

The role requires technical aptitude in motors, gearboxes, drives or power transmission, along with the ability to work autonomously and travel regularly within the North Island.

Qualifications

2+ years in B2B or technical sales or a technical background with the drive to move into a customer-facing role.
Self-managing and organised, able to plan your own week and follow enquiries through to the finish.
Motivated by building long-term relationships and winning new business.
Confident communicating with people at every level, from workshop to boardroom, with excellent written and verbal skills.

Responsibilities

Take over an established portfolio of clients across the North Island.
Grow business with new customers across New Zealand.
Balance account management with new business development.
Plan and manage your own call cycle.
Split time between client visits and desk time to follow up on enquiries.
Own each client relationship and manage their experience with the company.
