Job summary

Waitaki Boys' High School in Oamaru, New Zealand, seeks a Hard Materials Technology teacher for the 2027 school year. You will teach across Years 9–13, including senior NCEA classes, continuing the strong hands-on learning in our well-resourced workshop.

Experience with design thinking, engineering and construction principles is valued. You should build strong relationships with students, maintain a safe workshop environment, and bring a passion for developing young men.

About the Role

You will be teaching Hard Materials Technology across Years 9-13, including senior NCEA classes, to capable young men. This role is focused on continuing the strong hands-on learning experiences that foster creativity & craftsmanship in our well-resourced workshop. Our students are keen to learn, design and put their practical skills to good use. Experience in any of the following areas is beneficial:

• Product Design, Wood and/or Metal Technology
• Construction and Building / Engineering
• CAD/CAM and digital design tools
• NCEA Technology pathways
